Pre season

(Jan 1 – Mar 31)

-          Slow grooving

-          Bowl at stumps (batters bowled or lbw)

-          Stock bowling repetition

-          Key skill repetition

-          Simple planning discussion sessions

-          Introduce no such thing as failure as long as there is learning

-          Practice twice per week (pace – maximum 30 balls per spell / maximum two spells per session / spin – up to 60 balls in two spells)

Season

(April 1 – Mid Sept)

-          Maintain stock bowling theme

-          Attack stumps constantly

-          Minimal variation planning

-          Maintain S & C

-          Introduce mental toughness (u12)

-          After match discussions (10 mins max)

-          Practice once per week minimum (maximum twice)

(Mid Nov – Dec 31)

-          Develop physical attributes in line with key technical points (ie. Pre hab / leg strength etc…)

-          Fitness theme

 

-          S & C

-          Other sports

-          psych support plans

-          Minimal and occasional

 

 

Pre season

(Jan 1 – Mar 31)

-          Video analysis (action knowledge and maintenance)

-          Develop key strengths (grooving action)

-          Develop confidence in stock delivery and repetition

-          Practice hitting stumps / applying pressure / aggression

-          S & C

-          Other sports

-          Psych support info

-          Develop mental toughness attributes + different types of mental toughness definitions

-          Develop no such thing as failure + recognising challenges

-          Intro player discussion sessions (coach support)

-          Twice per week (pace - maximum 36 balls per spell / two spells per session / spin – no limit, but be sensible)

Season

(April 1 – Mid Sept)

-          Maintain repetition skills (stock ball)

-          Attack stumps all season

-          Learn to read situations / field adjustments

-          Maintain S & C

-          Match winning perform stats

-          Develop psych skills

-          Introduce match priority planning

-          Maintain focus on basics / simple skills

-          After match discussions (15 mins max)

-          Next day discussions (1 hour max)

-          Twice per week (monitor amount of balls bowled)
